About

About me:  I live in Hackney London (Eastside, yo) with my boyfriend Ian, flatmate Kat and Matilda the cat.  I have a full time job, I love hanging out with my mates, riding my bike, I have a tendency to read too much celebrity gossip and am partial to a pint or three on a sunny day.   I’ve had a media age of 26 for a couple of years now, and when I’m writing I have a tendency to ramble on too much.

I also love gardening.

This is my first proper growing season, and although its late in the day I wanted to document all i’ve been growing, and continue to do so as long as I continue to keep getting my hands dirty.

I am a complete and utter novice at gardening. I have no idea about latin names or pests and diseases (of which I am currently experiencing), but I love it. Everyone should give it a go. And everyone should try and grow from seed where possible, there is so much joy from seeing the first signs of germination, right through to harvesting the first fruit or seeing the first flower blossom.   And you really don’t need that much space –  I’ve used everything from window boxes, lampshades and buckets.

The only problem about container gardening (using pots and only pots) is that they need watering like the Sahara desert. Sometimes twice a day.  And believe me, the tomatoes will soon let you know. I never seen anything looking so miserable when I’ve forgotten to water them for a day.   However with bit of love, attention and nervous nail biting they soon bounce back.
